We currently recommend 1and1 for Linux web hosting. Their Linux shared hosting plans are roughly $4.00 a month. We have been using them for years and haven't experienced a problem & their uptime has been excellent.

The only issue we have had with 1and1 is they outsource there tech support to countries other then the United States & communication can be difficult sometimes. They have great help files so you may never need to call them.

We prefer Linux hosting because it's much easier to set up  & maintain then windows hosting.
